About

Taking the first steps in ministering to Rohingya refugees.

Do you know Rohingya refugees?

Rohingyas were originally from western India during the British colonization of India, but were relocated to Myanmar as a result of colonial policies after the British occupied Burma (now Myanmar). However, after Myanmar gained independence in 1948, they were seen as collaborators in colonial rule and were hated by the Myanmar people, and in 1962, they were forcibly relocated by the military government to Rakhine State, neighboring Bangladesh, and were stripped of Myanmar citizenship in 1982. In 2017, they were subjected to ethnic cleansing (genocide) by the Myanmar military, forcing them to flee to Bangladesh as refugees.

Marginalized and forgotten Rohingya refugees

About

Today, more than 1 million Rohingya refugees live in a refugee camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Surrounded by barbed wire and dependent on food provided by the UN, they have been living a captive-like existence in the camp for seven years. There is no electricity and no phone service. They are forbidden to learn the Bangla language and have no access to education. They have no education, no culture, and no country, making them refugees with no future and no hope.

Sending Missionaries to the Rohingya Refugees

About

DO BEFORE went on a field research trip to Rohingya refugee ministry in March and will be sending two units of short- and long-term missionaries this October. We will be setting up an education center for Rohingya refugees and starting a ministry to share the gospel with them. We hope for your intercession and help.
